A. WE ARE ADDICTED TO EVERYTHING
- We are addicted to everything in our existence, much beyond what we think is addictive.
- Food, money, fun, entertainment, people, sleep -- these are all addictions.
- Some of the things that we believe are natural needs are actually addictions.
- Your body does not require anything outside of you to stay alive or sustain itself.
B. YOU KNOW YOU'RE ADDICTED WHEN YOU GET A CRAVING
- You know you are addicted to something when you get a craving or a strong need for it.
- If you cannot live without something or you go crazy without something, you are addicted.
- While you want to work to eliminate your addictions, it is impossible to remove them all.
- You will always be addicted to something at some level, as addiction is merely a fact of life.
C. YOUR WILL POWER KEEPS YOU ALIVE AND NOT THE THINGS THAT YOU CRAVE
- It is only your will power that keeps you alive, not the food, sleep or exercise, etc.
- Your believing that you need things outside of you to survive demonstrates your weakness.
- Your actual need for those things demonstrates how weak you are.
- Over time you can learn to empower yourself and not disempower yourself.
